"You are the star, fancy and afar pt. 2." (2025) is a tribute to selfhood. The works in this series also serve as a mischievous and playful mirror image of all beings. These sculptural ryijys combine hard and soft materials, challenging the traditional boundaries of ryijy textiles.

The series was created for the exhibition Summer Rain, which was presented in Kunsthalle Helsinki 17.5.-3.8.2025. This expansive and multi-voiced group exhibition presented works by 20 contemporary artists and artist collectives. Summer Rain was curated through an open call in spring 2024, which generated great interest among artists.

The artists for this open-call exhibition were selected by a four-member jury: Eeva Holkeri (Kunsthalle Helsinki), Katri Lassila (Artists’ Association of Finland), Susi Siriya Orenius (Ruskeat Tytöt) and Tatiana Solovieva (Globe Art Point).
